What does it take to feel like a woman?

I’ve been thinking about this lately, not sure why. It all comes down to being single and seeing no man on the horizon.

Feelings of loneliness definitely overwhelm and my age is certainly a factor. Being single at my age is an issue I deal with on a weekly basis and looking around my bedroom has made me wonder if I’m a woman yet or still a girl.

But what does it take to feel like a woman?

We’re born female. But we aren’t women. We’re toddlers and tweens. But we aren’t women. We’re teenagers and adults. But we aren’t women.

Does feeling like a woman happen in your 20s? Not for me. What about 30s? I’m still in it but I don’t feel like one. What about 40s? 50s? 60s?

I don’t know. Do you?

What does feeling like a woman feel like?

Does it mean feeling mature? Feeling physically mature and of age? Feeling emotionally mature and old? Able to be sexual and be a sexual being?

I don’t fucking know.

I’m heading for 40 and don’t feel sexual. I don’t feel mentally like a woman but if anyone can tell me what it mentally feels like to be a woman then I can figure out if it’s what I’m feeling or not. I certainly don’t feel old mentally, or physically, but is that what it takes to feel like a woman?

Is being single depriving me of feeling like a woman?

Not having a man, and I mean a MAN, not a boy who thinks he’s a man, around is probably depriving me of feeling like a woman.

But then do I need a man to feel like a woman?

Shania Twain’s, MAN I FEEL LIKE A WOMAN, has some interesting lyrics, but they still don’t make me feel like a woman.

So what does it take?

Do different women have different feelings? Well duh, obviously. Maybe I’m missing something. What? I don’t know. Well a man probably but there must be something that will make me feel mature enough to feel like a woman.

Is that what it takes?

Maturity?

Who the fuck really knows, but one thing I do know is that I want and need a man!

Do you want to become an author? Don't bother with the big house publishers.

In my last writing post I mentioned -

“BIG PUBLISHERS” don’t seem to want any new fiction from unknown authors anymore.”

And now I’ll elaborate on what I mean.

Have you seen your local bookshop shelves (if you’ve still got one), or any of the online book shops?

The majority of books, for me, fall into two categories, REALITY and BIG BUCK authors.

What I mean is this.

Big $$$$$ authors who have already proven they can earn money. Jackie Collins, Janet Evanovich (who earns $40 million for four books), Stephen King, James Patterson the list could go on. You would’ve seen their books on the store shelves taking up most of the space as their past books are constantly republished (like Jackie Collins), and basically the publisher puts all of their money into their big $$$$ money makers. I do love Jackie, I’ll just get that in.

And then there’s REALITY.

Reality books cover many subjects. Real life stories, health, money, cooking, exercise etc, and celebrity. How many celebrities have you seen on the cover of books in the shops. Either autobiographies or novels supposedly written by the celeb themselves.

Although I have it on good authority that many celebs DON’T write their own books, instead an in-house ghost writer takes it on and the celeb gets paid the big bucks.

I definitely know that Katie Price, aka, Jordan, HAS NOT written any of her five books as she admitted it on the Graham Norton show.

I have issues with all of this.

1 – I don’t cook.

2 – I don’t exercise.

3 – I don’t need Dr Phil telling me how to fix my life or Suze Orman telling me how to handle my money.

4 – I don’t need to read a celeb's sob story about how bad their life was when I can barely manage to keep mine going sometimes.

5 – NONE OF THESE BASTARDS HAVE ACTUALLY WRITTEN THEIR OWN BOOKS!!!!!!!

I have two bugbears.

1 – Celebs get paid mega bucks for not even writing a book.

2 – They get all the money so publishers don’t invest in new authors.

I refuse to read celeb books. I don’t buy any of the others and I get them from my local library and even then I don’t think they’re much cop.

I find it incredibly annoying that everyday people who sit down and slave away writing, typing, editing, submitting and being refused don’t get a fair go in the publishing world.

The “BIG 6” publishers are so far behind the real world it’s ridiculous. There are arguments over royalties, who gets what, who owns what, how many versions get sold, whether they’ll go digital.

It’s just bloody stupid.

So I decided to take control of my own publishing life. I follow Nathan Bransford, formerly of literary agency Curtis Brown in America, and now with website, CNET. He’s also published a children’s book. He wrote a blog about indie writer Amanda Hocking, who had, at the time of me reading, just made 1 million dollars from selling her 11 novels online.

So now I follow her. And after reading her blog found Joe Konrath, who does the same. All of his books are available to buy online and he has been lucky enough to have had some printed by a publisher over the years. He has a very informative blog and writes many posts, along with guest bloggers, about the difference between traditional publishing (paper print) and digital publishing.

Both of these writers have been the inspiration in me making my decision in going digital myself. I’ve wanted to be in print since writing my first novel, THE ROAD TO VEGAS. And after finding CreateSpace, I will now have that. And because it’s print on demand (the book is printed when someone buys it so there are no leftover books lying around) it means it will always be in print along with the digital versions that will be available in many formats.

Thank God for the people who decided to invent these websites and innovative ways of giving the world what they can have without slogging their guts out fighting for recognition from the big fat cats of the publishing world.

Do we writers really need some bigwigs telling us we’re good enough? Or do we have the balls to stand up and say, “I KNOW I’m good enough.”

Although some really aren’t!

Amy Winehouse found dead! What did you expect?

Whether you snort it, inject it, swallow it. Drug addicts are drug addicts.

Drug addicts don't "accidentally" overdose. There is no such thing when you're a drug addict.

When you are a drug addict you know there will be a day you don't come back. There is only one way to fix it and that is to make the choice to stop.

Amy made the choice.

I just want to know who called the ambulance.

Createspace is on its way.

I've uploaded both books into the Createspace templates and have removed the odd word here and there to fit lines and pages in better. Don't worry it doesn't change the story. Now I have the final edit and fixing things then I'll upload to CS and await approval. Then I have the covers and ordering a proof and then fixing anymore errors and then redoing it and yes there is still so much more to do.

But you can buy my ebooks at Smashwords!

One step closer to being a published author!

So peeps, yesterday I finished the last edit of London and then ulpoaded both to Smashwords. Currently they are awaiting approval so I'll let you know when they're available for sale.

As for Createspace, I filled the template with Lotto and will need to edit that to get it right and will be doing London today. CS will take a little longer as I will need to get proofs before putting them up for sale. But fingers crossed ebooks will be this month and print next month.

PS - I'm adding this as I've found out I've already made a sale and so they are now for sale check my BUY MY BOOKS page for the deets!

My books are nearly ready to go for sale. Not long now peeps.

So peeps, it's getting closer. I've wasted time unfortunately, waiting for my black ink to arrive so I could print out both of my manuscripts for a last edit, but since they are still not here after three weeks yesterday I had to use a coloured ink cart. Thankfully I was able to get almost all of both printed and went through Lotto last night. I'll go through London today, and see if I can get the rest printed off and then I'll be able to do the final edits on my manuscripts and thn I should be uploading them to Smashwords tomorrow and Createspace and Wedneday or Thursday.

Once the books are approved on Smash I'll let you all know they are available for sale. The same with CS where you'll be able to get them in print, although the covers will be a little harder to get done so they may take until next month.

Soon peeps, soon.

Moron sellers on ebay!

A couple of weeks ago I had a convo with a friend about an experience she had on eBay recently. I told her I'd had the same thing happen to me a couple of years ago.

She had spied a bag she liked and asked the seller if they shipped to Australia and how much it was.

The seller told her that an English woman had asked her the same thing and that it was too expensive to ship. That she had taken it to the post office and was told $17.80 and the seller stated this was too expensive.

My friend sent a reply back telling the seller something along the lines of, you are assuming the customer cannot afford the shipping and that as a seller they shouldn't as they don't know how much a customer can or cannot afford. That she thought the shipping of $17 was reasonable for something that size and that the seller was losing business by assuming their customers don't have money.

I had something similar happen to me about three years ago. I was looking at a bulk lot of books on eBay and had asked the seller how much shipping was to Aus, I got so many convoluted replies it was ridiculous. He told me how much and this was too expensive for someone to afford and blah, blah, blah, and then he got angry when I didn't reply fast enough and I had a go at him by telling him that I didn't reply because I was on the other side of the world and it was night time and I had gone to bed and answered the next morning when I got online. What a knob! Needless to say I didn't buy his books. Such a dick!

But either way, I don't know what sort of sellers these people are, but if someone asks for the shipping rate give it to them and not a running fucking commentary full of assumptions and stupidity. You have no fucking idea what a potential customer can or cannot afford to spend on an article. I could be filthy rich for all anyone knows and have dough to spend but because of these idiots, they don't get my money.

Morons!

Tv Show continuity. Don't you just hate it!

So last night was the season finale of Aussie drama Sea Patrol. In the lead up to the end, as the show has also been axed, I went back and watched seasons 2, 3, and 4 on http://www.ninemsn.com.au/, I don't know if you'll be able to watch but give it a try.

In watching these eps some things are never rectified. At the end of season 3, three characters disappear, Buffer, Spider and Nav, and the reasons why are never stated in the first ep of season 4. Neither is the new character of Bird, although we do know that Conrad Coleby's character of Dutchy is the new Buffer. Their nicknames have to do wih their job. So, what happened to them? Have no idea.

Also in season 4, there's a scene in two eps that are exactly the same with Duutchy lying on the bed having his wounds checked over. Geez, the budget wasn't that tight that they had to use that scene twice. I get reusing outside scenes of boarding boats or pointing guns, but I thought I was seeing things when I saw that scene again. The blood is even in the same place.

But as for the end of the last episode, they killed off the popular character Swain :( and yes, I cried, I always do when people die in movies or shows. And I also have a bit of a crush on the actor at the mo, so we'lll see how long that lasts.

But the "epilogue" was weird. At the end they told us what happened to all the characters. Instead of saying they went on to sail and protect the coast of Australia, they split the team up. Why? Don't know. We all figured Mike and Kate would get married, but 2Dads went A.W.O.L in Singapore, which is understandable, but Charge left the Navy to work on an oil rig of Western Aus, R.O went on to be the radio operator on other ships, Bird became a fully qualified medic and Dutchy went back to Afghanistan. And Swain's daughter grew up to join the Navy.

Now that bit was the weirdest. All the rest you could see happening within the year, but Swain's daughter was five, there would have been a fifteen year wait at least for her to join. So that was a bit unbelievable. So was breaking up the team :(

Oh well, another Aussie drama, although at times it was more comedy, and yes, it was quite funny has disappeared of our screens. If you want to check out the finale, click this, it may work for you, it should, otherwise check out youtube. I'm still sad :(

People who keep complaining about websites need to pull their head out. The website is not the problem, YOU ARE!

Fucking people who complain about websites such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, blogs, sods and bits and bobs, and want the police to do something when something happens to their kids online, or they get emails or phone calls annoy the hell out of me.

Look here you fucking idiots. The websites are not to blame.

YOU FUCKING ARE!!!

For being too fucking lazy to dictate to your child that if they have an online profile to NOT give out personal details.

There are plenty of things to keep your profile private and safe and the parents need to stop being lazy arse bastards and read up on these websites and watch what the kids are doing.

The kids are only to blame because of the stupid arse parents who aren't teaching them anything or dictating the rules in the household.

The websites are not at fault if your kids get cyber stalked. It's the parents and kids fault for having so many details online and NOT learning about the safety aspect of it all.

PULL YOUR FUCKING HEADS OUT YOU FUCKING WHINGING BASTARDS AND GET OFF YOUR FUCKING LAZY ARSE AND DO SOMETHING. GET PROACTIVE AND BE ACTIVE IN YOUR KIDS ONLINE LIFE.

My Favourite Things: Mentos Ad

We've started getting this Mentos ad here in Aus and it's hilarious. I hate big spiders and can generally deal with the smaller ones like in this ad. But if this is what they're gonna get up to then fuck it, I ain't dealing with ANY spider anymore.

Another day of shit in the world! A mother hears her daughter stabbed to death by her ex.

This happened last week. Talk about sickening shit going on in the world. Men need to have their dick and balls cut off and be chained to a wall in a cave for the rest of their lives.

Ramazan Acar was jailed for life today for the brutal murder of his two-year-old toddler, Yazmina.

Her mother has delivered a heart wrenching message to her murdered toddler outside court, telling the little girl her father's life sentence is justice for them both. And after seeing the man who killed her daughter put behind bars, Rachelle D'Argent wanted to share the moment with her. "Mimi, it's our day today. Mummy told you there would be justice for you. And even though I haven't accepted that you're not here, forever you'll be in my heart and I know you'll always be smiling down on all of us, my beautiful angel. Mummy and Mimi for life."

Yazmina Acar, or Mimi as she was known, was brutally stabbed to death in a frenzy by Acar last November. He kidnapped Yazmina from her mother's home, then taunted his former partner for hours about his plans to murder their daughter, even posting 'about to kill ma kid' on social networking site Facebook. He also described the brutal murder as "pay bk (back)" for the girl's mother, Rachelle.

In sentencing, Justice Elizabeth Curtain said the killing was among the worst crimes possible. It was a "chilling and horrific murder," she said. "You committed this murder for the worst possible motives: revenge and spite," Justice Curtain told Acar. "She was killed by the one man in the world whose duty was to love and protect her."

Acar's lawyer said his client had a personlaity disorder which made him impulsive and unable to control his anger, that it was akin to a mental illness and warranted a sentencing discount.
But the judge disagreed, saying he knew full well what he was doing was wrong and life was the only appropriate penalty.

Acar was given a 33 year minimum, placing him among the state's worst killers.

FUCKING HELL!!!!!!

Fucking arseholes like this need to have their dick cut off!

This week I read about this -

A Melbourne youth church leader who raped a 14-year-old girl, poured petrol on her and set her alight has been jailed for 21 years. Michael Tuano Hermogenes, 25, plied the girl with alcohol before choking her with one of her stockings, raping her, taking photos of her while she was naked and unconscious, then setting her and her house alight to hide his crimes. She suffered permanent injuries including burns to half her body, amputation of her right toes and spent almost a year in hospital.

Hermogenes pleaded guilty to charges including arson, attempted murder and rape over the attack at the girl's home in Melbourne's west in May 2010. He has been jailed for 21 years and must serve 16 years before he is eligible for parole. He sat in the dock with his head bowed, hands clasped in a praying position. He showed little other reaction as the sentence was handed down.

Justice Paul Coghlan said Hermogenes' crimes involved a breach of trust and was satisfied he took alcohol to the girl's home so he could take sexual advantage of her. The judge described his photographing of his victim as "bizarre and disgusting". Justice Coghlan said the girl spent almost all of the 15th year of her life in hospital as a result of her horrific injuries. "She will suffer from them for the rest of her life ... and will need daily care," he said. The judge accepted Hermogenes was remorseful, but was guarded about his rehabilitation prospects. He said a "very stern" sentence was necessary to deter others from similar crimes.

I FUCKING HATE ARSEHOLE LIKE THIS….

I HOPE SOMEONE SLICES AND DICES THE BASTARD IN JAIL AND DOES TO HIM WHAT HE DID TO THAT POOR GIRL.

ROT IN HELL YOU FUCKING DOG.
